According to me Physical education should be at equal place with other academic classes or subject, because students get a lot of benefit from Physical Education classes. P.E. classes can help students to become more aware of the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The students can also retain a higher level of knowledge as a result of overall health. This knowledge can help them to make wise decisions concerning their safety, health & wellbeing.

The concept of P.E. is generally known as playing sports, organising some games or activities in school. But nowadays looking in view of the old days, the meaning of Physical Education has become little different from what is commonly understood. Now, aim of Physical Education is Not only the Physical development but also to equip students with knowledge, skills, capacity, values & the enthusiasm to maintain and carry-on healthy life style.

In our school Physical Education programme offers students the opportunity to be physically active. There are many benefits students that the students receive from physical education classes such as :

• Regular Fitness Activity
As we have already discussed that physical fitness is an important component to leading a healthy lifestyle. The inclusion of regular fitness activity helps students maintain fitness, develop muscular strength & improve Cardio Vascular health. A regular fitness activity improves the absorption of nutrients by the body, improve digestive processes & increases physiological processes.

• Builds self-confidence social interaction:
The participation of students in physical education, provides a positive influence on a student’s personality, character and self-esteem. In addition, team building process enhances communication skills, and the skills required to get along and cooperate with students of various ethnic background & personalities.

• Relieves stress:

Nowadays school students have substantial amount of stress due to competitive world around them. Involvement in sports, Yoga, recreational activities or other forms of Physical fitness- offer a method of stress relief.

• Develop motor skills: Physical Education in school is essential for the development of motor skills and the enhancement of reflexes. Hand- eye coordination is improved, as well as good body movement is achieved, which helps in the development of a healthy body posture.

• Health & Nutrition: Physical education teaches students the importance of physical health. Schooling time is the age where students misunderstand the meaning of “Overweight” or “Underweight” and eating disorders wins. Physical health and education informs students on Good eating habits and the essential guidelines for nutrition.

So, Physical Education and Classroom education keeps students engaged and prevent them from going off target. And when they are engaged in Physical Activities, they get to work as leader, as a team. In physical education students will also learn to value 3E’s Education – Equipment – Ethics.
